Opening reception: 19. 2. 2022
Experimental space I, II
Visual artist Richard Loskot is a graduate of the Technical University of Liberec’s Faculty of Art and Architecture (Studio of Visual Communications), where he currently teaches. His sophisticated work straddling the boundary between research and experimentation is based on combining architecture, sculpture and new technologies. The site-specific installation View into the Void, created for the Baroque baths and cellar spaces at GASK, will – in a fashion typical for the artist – make use of the physical and optical characteristics of the materials, the principle of reflection, the movement of water and the reflection of light. Loskot’s original New Media approach to GASK’s Experimental Spaces I and II represents an innovative appraisal of the situation and setting of the Jesuit College’s medieval architecture. Also contributing to the site-specific project is Vítězslav Plavec, a student of Loskot’s at the Technical University of Liberec’s Faculty of Art and Architecture.
