The exhibition Metasystems is based on the themes of Adéla Matasová’s work over the past two decades. Though retrospective in nature, it doesn’t follow a traditional chronological order, but instead builds on the artist’s recent works by discovering analogies to her older realisations.

The exhibition has also inspired the publication of Meantime, a comprehensive monographic survey of Matasová’s lifework featuring a catalogue raisonné together with art historical texts by Pavlína Morganová and Martina Pachmanová, who have focused long-term on Matasová’s work since the 1960s. The richly illustrated book will also include texts by curators Michal Koleček and Veronika Marešová.

A downscaled version of the exhibition will be subsequently shown at the Gallery of Fine Art in Ostrava.
