STARRY SKY

The exhibition Starry Sky looks at how Josef Sochor, owner of a textile factory in Dvůr Králové, and his sons worked with leading figures on the art scene. Besides František Kysela, creator of the eponymous monumental textile piece depicting the position of the heavenly bodies on the day of Czechoslovak independence, the exhibition also includes works by Alois Fišárek, Alois Wachsman, Jiří Trnka, Karel Svolinský, Toyen and Marie Fischerová-Kvěchová.

GASK SUPPORTS UKRAINE

"Many human passions can be satisfied; never, though, the pleasure of tyranny and brutality."

Josef Čapek (1887–1945), Written into the Clouds

The thoughts of all of us at GASK are with those who are bravely fighting against Russian aggression in the Ukraine.

Avenue of Saints

A long-term exhibition project inspired by sculptor František Baugut’s baroque Gallery of Saints located in front of the Jesuit College. The exhibition was created with a view to the new form of our permanent exhibition.

Open-air GASK

On display in the gardens of the Jesuit College, Open-air GASK presents sculptures and installations by artists from the permanent exhibitions States of Mind / Beyond the Image and Avenue of Saints or whose works feature in current or upcoming exhibitions.

States of mind /Beyond the image - interventions and innovations

From December 2017 onwards, our permanent collection is being shown in a fresh reworking. Apart from a series of newly exhibited collection works, we are presenting new long-term loans, newly chosen aphorism accompanying individual themes and two new pair of states of mind: independence / obsession and idealism / cynism.
