Printmaker and teacher Miloš Michálek (1949) has systematically focused on printing from wood and other finely textured surfaces that retain traces and even scars of their interaction with people. The prints made using these techniques are a symbolic visual chronicle of the phenomenon of memory. At his exhibition as part of the “Printmaking Crossovers” cycle, Michálek presents a representative selection of works from the past thirty years.
