Tomáš Švéda (1947), one of the founding members of the famous art group 12/15 “Better Late Than Never,” is a painter at heart. Besides his monumental paintings (which can be seen in the permanent exhibition States of Mind), the GASK collections also include an important set of drawings made after 1990. Nature motifs alternate with colour compositions, and dynamic spatial lines create energy fields – a kind of cosmic space. These drawings come from a period in Švéda’s career when the colour of energy changes into a glow, light becomes one of the image’s primary building blocks, and Švéda generally gives his works a deeper spiritual meaning.
